The Eagle Mountain West Stake had a stake conference this weekend. In the past, that might have been an excuse to stay home for the weekend. However, this time, Jason went to the Priesthood Leadership session, Joy and Jason went to the adult session, and the whole family went to the broadcast on Sunday morning.
Our lives have been changed forever. Our beloved Stake President shared a message at the Priesthood session on Saturday that talked about not being casual in the Gospel. Jason was struck by the Spirit and decided to make some changes in the way that the family was living.
The new motto of our family is "Be Not Casual". We are committed to living the Gospel. We don't want to just belong to the church, we want to live the Gospel. If the question is asked of us, in regards to a Gospel principle, we want to be able to answer that we live that principle the best we can, and not casually...
As a part of this, we have made the decision as a family to shut down our Facebook accounts, not participate in YouTube, and to make every effort to be the kind of people that we know we should be. We don't do this to "show" how righteous we are. We do this because we want to be together forever. The choices we have made may not be the choices that others need to make. But they are right for us.
Most blogs won't be this serious, but we wanted to state to the world what and who we plan to be. We are still the same people, but are now focused on the eternal goal that can be ours.
